ASEAN 2025

In 2025, ASEAN will mark a decade since the official formation of the ASEAN Community. Over the past ten years, driven by the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and its accompanying Blueprints, the region has made major strides in promoting peace, security, and shared economic growth.

To build on this progress and prepare for the future, ASEAN is now working on a long-term roadmap — the ASEAN Community Vision 2045. This forward-looking vision will be officially introduced during the 46th ASEAN Summit to be held in Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia’s role as ASEAN Chair in 2025 comes with the theme ‘Inclusivity and Sustainability’. This theme expresses a deep commitment to making progress that benefits all, ensuring that development reaches every corner of the region and that no one is excluded from growth.

The focus on inclusivity means creating opportunities for all communities, while sustainability ensures that our growth is responsible and future-proof. Together, these values shape a path that strengthens unity and resilience across ASEAN nations.

These guiding principles of inclusivity and sustainability will be woven into every aspect of ASEAN cooperation — from political and security collaboration to economic integration and socio-cultural development.

As ASEAN looks ahead, the shared goal is clear: to create a community that not only thrives today, but also lays the foundation for lasting peace, prosperity, and harmony for generations to come.
